Infection prevention is a top priority in acute care facilities due to mandatory reporting of healthcare-associated infections (HAIs), potential reimbursement penalties imposed by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), and most important, the impact HAIs can have on patients and their families.

This case study highlights how the Ethicon Take Aim Program helped a 25-hosptial health system implement standardized, evidence-based infection control practices, engage and educate clinicians, and prepare for accreditation audits through the appropriate utilization of Ethicon devices.

Infection preventionists can use this case study to learn about an innovative program that can complement a facility’s existing infection prevention initiatives and ultimately help impact patient lives.
